Future students plant roots at Campbell Business

Campbell University 2016 Winter Commencement

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Eighteen future Campbell Business students recently spent a day on campus gathering information and engraining themselves into the fabric of the Campbell community. Incoming students took part in tours and an information session, networked with current students, faculty and staff, and ended the day by taking in a basketball game at Gore Arena.

Incoming students arrived in the afternoon and were paired with current student leaders for a tour of the Campbell Business facility before assembling for an information session, scavenger hunt, and “College MythBusters” question and answer session. The Q&A provided future students with an inside look at what Campbell Business is all about and provided pertinent, timely information in a comfortable atmosphere.

“My favorite part of the event was seeing the current students and future students together,” said Campbell Business 4+1 Trust major Emily Jones who serves as a graduate assistant and helped organize the event. “I think that our current Campbell Business students really enjoyed having the opportunity to be paired with high school students and share their experiences.”

After the information session, all incoming students — along with their family members and hosts — enjoyed a BBQ dinner with the Campbell Business student body throughout Lundy-Fetterman.

“I loved attending the BBQ and Basketball event,” said incoming student Rachel Baker. “The business school went out of their way to make prospective students, especially myself, feel right at home. Campbell provides such a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, which I love. I can't wait to become a Camel in the fall!”

“One of the best parts of my job, and of working at Campbell, is moments when our students, faculty, staff, and administration gather together in community and celebration,” said Campbell Business Student Success Coordinator Renee Green. “This event allowed future students to see the authenticity in our mission.”

Visiting students and their families ended the evening as guests of Campbell Business at a university basketball game, where they enjoyed access to the President’s Box and received Z.T. Kivett bobble heads in celebration of Founders Week.

“Everyone was cordial, inviting, and made me feel very welcome,” said future student Luvia De Arcia. “I officially enrolled the day of the event, and I couldn't be more excited! I can't wait!”
