Gabriella Story joins Campbell Business as director of PGA Golf Management program

Gabriella Story has joined the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business as the Director of the PGA Golf Management program.

“After a national search that involved the PGA of America, I am excited to welcome Mrs. Gabriella Story aboard,” announced Kevin O’Mara, dean of the School of Business. “She received exceptional recommendations from the PGA and other references familiar with her work. We look forward to the ideas, energy, and direction she will inject in our PGAGM program.”

Story spent her first three years, post-graduation from NC State University, working as an assistant golf professional at Interlachen Country Club, Riomar Country Club and Green Spring Valley Hunt Club.

In 2017, she made the switch into higher education, joining NC State in their PGA Golf Management program as their student services coordinator. During her time with the program, she also served as the department’s undergraduate programs associate and the College of Natural Resources’ interim director of recruitment.

Story is from Bowie, Maryland — which she shared is pronounced like Buies Creek — the daughter of two entrepreneurs who have successfully run a bakery for 20 years.

She is also active in the competitive golf space as evident by her recent third-place win at the Carolinas PGA Section Women’s Championship at North Ridge Country Club. She shot 75-76 for the two-day event, tying for third place, one shot behind the leaders who battled out in a playoff.

“I am thrilled to use my passion for golf and education to pour into young minds,” Story said. “I look forward to strengthening Campbell’s partnerships with local PGM programs, introducing new recruitment tactics with an inspiring focus on female representation, and collaborating with other departments in the business school to offer faculty, staff, and student golf lessons.”
