Goldsboro resident leads Campbell University Homecoming Parade

Buies Creek, N.C.—Retired educator and Campbell supporter Sadie Outlaw Neel, of Goldsboro, N.C., served as Grand Marshal of Campbell University’s Homecoming Parade, held Saturday, Oct. 30.

Neel, who taught public school for over 30 years, has served several terms on Campbell boards as both a trustee and an advisor and has established a School of Education scholarship in memory of her late brother Lewis Outlaw, Jr., also a Campbell benefactor. The scholarship is given annually to a worthy student from Wayne County who is majoring in education. Neel also served as vice chairman of the Executive Committee and on the Committee on Institutional Advancement as a Campbell trustee.

An active member of Falling Creek Baptist Church in Goldsboro, Neel has served as the church organist, teaches Sunday school and is a member of the Stewardship Committee. A member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU, Neel has served as director of the Falling Creek Baptist Church Outreach Committee and is a former Council Representative for the Neuse Baptist Association.

Married to the late Robert Hannibal Neel, she has one son, Robert Neel, Jr., who is a Campbell graduate.
