Greensboro attorney honored by Campbell University

Buies Creek–Greensboro attorney and activist R. Steve Bowden was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Campbell University at the 2007 Homecoming event held Saturday, Oct. 20. Bowden is the founding member of R. Steve Bowden & Associates, a personal injury law firm in Greensboro.A 1979 graduate of Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, Bowden is involved in a number of educational and charitable organizations in Greensboro and across North Carolina. He is a Campbell trustee and president of the Guilford County Association of Black Lawyers Foundation, as well as a member of the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina. In addition, Bowden serves on the North Carolina Chiropractic Examiners Licensing Board and is chairman of the George C. Simkins Memorial Political Action Committee (PAC).Bowden is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Award, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and Campbell’s Presidential Medallion. He is a certified member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a national organization of trial lawyers which recognizes excellence in trial advocacy.”This is one of the greatest honors I’ve ever received,” said Bowden. “Campbell has done a lot for me. They gave me the chance of a lifetime when they accepted me into the law school.
