Hardison & Cochran to sponsor moot court team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that Hardison & Cochran Attorneys at Law will provide financial support to sponsor a competitive moot court team. The firm’s gift will make it possible for a group of students to compete at the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition, March 24-25, in Washington, D.C.

“This marks the second year in a row that our dear friends at Hardison & Cochran have supported our advocacy program, and we could not be more appreciative of their generosity,” said Leonard. “Their gift will allow for our students to enjoy a first-class experience while continuing to learn outside of the classroom and represent Campbell Law at the same time.”

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution – the cornerstone of American democracy – is the focus of the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition. The event attracts teams from leading law schools nationwide. During the two-day competition, teams argue hypothetical case based on a current First Amendment controversy before panels of accomplished jurists, legal scholars and attorneys.
