RALEIGH — The Health Law Society at Campbell Law School has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the North Carolina Society of Health Care Attorneys.
The grant will be used to complete a community service project titled “Increasing Organ Donor Awareness.” The Society intents to focus its efforts on historically underrepresented communities in organ donation registries, specifically the Latino and African-American communities.
“Campbell Health Law is so excited to receive the Society’s grant,” said Chris Agosto Carreiro, secretary of the group. “It will enable us to make a meaningful impact on an underrepresented part of the organ donation community.”
Research and material creation will be done in the fall of 2011 with the community action portion of the project being done in the spring of 2012.
