Holding elected to Campbell University Board of Trustees

Buies Creek, N.C.-Frank B. Holding, Sr., of Smithfield, N.C., has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Holding currently serves as Executive Vice Chairman and Director of First Citizens Bank and Trust Company, director of First Citizens Bank of South Carolina and director of Southern Bank and Trust Company.

A graduate of Wake Forest University, Holding began working with his father and brothers at First Citizens Bank at the age of 27.

Throughout his long career, Holding has received numbers honors and awards, including honorary degrees from Campbell University, Chowan College and Wake Forest University, where he was named an Outstanding Alumnus in 2002. Holding is a recipient of South Carolina’s Order of the Palmetto and serves on the boards of the North Carolina Global Transpark Foundation, the Golden Leaf Foundation and the Dix Visionaries. He has also served as a member of Campbell University’s Presidential Board of Advisors.

Active members of Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield, Holding and his wife Ella Ann are the parents of five children. They have 12 grandchildren.
