With sympathy and sadness, Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences announces the passing of Dr. Robert “Bob” Garrett, Jr., PhD, assistant professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, on February 23, 2017.

Dr. Garrett joined the CPHS faculty in 1988. His professional interests included the effects of chemicals on living systems, as well as the neurobiological actions of convulsants, anticonvulsants, analeptics, sedatives and hypnotics.

He was an active member of the Fuquay-Varina Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and teacher of the high school and adult classes.

Dr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Bess, his two children, Ian and Anna, and two grandchildren. A man of impeccable character, he was dedicated to his family, his church and his profession.

A Memorial Service for Dr. Garrett will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at the Fuquay-Varina Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to “Church of Christ Worldwide” on behalf of the missionary work of Dr. Garrett’s father, whose name is also Robert Garrett. Please note that the contribution is for “Robert Garrett Missions.”  You may mail your contribution to P. O. Box 54842, Lexington, KY 40555.
