RALEIGH, N.C. – The Campbell Law School Career & Professional Development Center held its inaugural Campbell Law Career Night on Thursday, Nov. 8. Nearly 50 representatives from 34 employers attended the festivities, providing professional advice and insight to more than 95 Campbell Law students.

“As our students decide which areas of law to explore through internships or focus as a career path, it’s critically important for them to investigate the field and inquire with professionals currently practicing in those arenas,” said Campbell Law Career & Professional Development Center Director Julie Beavers. “Tonight’s event provided our students with an opportunity to do just that, while networking and fostering relationships with local professionals.
“Campbell Law is fortunate to enjoy strong relationships with area practitioners, and we are thankful that so many of them enjoy taking time to counsel our students and arm them with valuable career insight.”
Practicing professionals on-site for the event represented a broad assortment of legal sectors, including business litigation, corporate, criminal, environmental, family law, health law, immigration, intellectual property, labor and employment, prosecution, defense and plaintiff litigation, real estate, and trusts and estates.
“I thought career night was an enormous success,” said third-year student Lauren Ellis. “It provided me with the opportunity to speak to employers that practice in areas I hadn’t yet considered, and it also allowed me to learn more about what it’s actually like to practice – from day to day – in areas I have studied in class.”
“It was refreshing to talk with local practitioners in a non-interview environment where I could learn about their fields of expertise and their experiences in the practice of law, without the question of my ultimate acceptance or rejection guiding both sides of the conversation,” said second-year student Jacob Davis.
