#CampbellFoundersWeek Coverage
- Monday: Introducing #CampbellFoundersWeek
- Tuesday: How Campbell University began
- Wednesday: It’s #CampbellDay!
- Thursday: The way it once was
- Friday: “The founder and his dream”
It’s #CampbellDay! Think of this as a national holiday for Campbell University. Help us celebrate the university and our founding 128 years ago by doing 1, 2, or all 3 of these things:
To recap:
- Wear orange.
- Share why you’re #CampbellProud on social media.
- Make a gift of at least $18.87 to support student scholarships.*
*Why $18.87? Because J.A. Campbell founded the university in 1887. Help us meet our goal of getting 128 donations — one for each year of our existence.

Connections featuring Lt. John Arroyo ’13: Connections’ featured speaker will be Lt. John Arroyo, a 2013 Campbell graduate who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck during the shootings at the Ford Hood military installation in April 2014. Lt. Arroyo, one of the most dedicated ROTC cadets in the university’s history, returns to Buies Creek to share his testimony. As you wait for Connections to begin, snap a picture of “J.A. Campbell” as he mingles with the crowd. Don’t forget to tag him, @JACampbell1887, in your social media posts. (Open only to Connections students.)
Founders Week Scavenger Hunt: This is the time to show what you really know about our university’s history. At 9 a.m., CAB will kick off a scavenger hunt on its Twitter and Facebook feeds. Throughout the day, until 4 p.m. CAB will post historical facts about buildings on campus and trivia questions about the university, and students will reply with the correct answers or take photos with buildings that are the correct answers. A grand prize will be awarded to the winner of the entire Scavenger Hunt.
