The Campbell University Alumni Association Board of Directors bestowed Jerry Milton with the Honorary Alumnus Award on Oct. 24.
Milton is the founder and owner of Southeastern Interiors, a residential and commercial construction company that has assisted Campbell with the building of the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center, Butler Chapel and Barker-Lane Stadium, as well as countless other renovation and construction projects on Campbell’s campus. Milton has assisted Campbell financially through these projects, as well as offering high-quality services.
Milton’s wife, Beth, graduated from Campbell in 1992 and son Jerry D. (Jeremy) Milton Jr. graduated in 2016, and the family continues to stay involved with the University on both a professional and personal level. Currently, Milton serves on the Campbell University Board of Trustees, a position he has held since 2017.
Will Franklin (’96), Alumni Board of Directors president, presented the award, saying, “Today’s honoree has proven to be a devoted and generous friend of Campbell and our students and we are proud to welcome him as a Campbell alumnus. Honorary degrees are given to individuals who partner with Campbell to promote the success of our institution and are continuously faithful to the mission of higher education.”
“I could not be more pleased and proud to have Jerry Milton recognized as an honorary alumnus of Campbell University,” said Britt Davis, vice president of institutional advancement. “Jerry has literally done everything a graduate of Campbell can do. He’s donated his time and resources, supported his family as they attended and graduated from Campbell, and served on the university board of trustees. Being recognized as an honorary graduate is a natural honor for Campbell to bestow upon our friend Jerry Milton.”
