RALEIGH –  Campbell Law School Dean J. Rich Leonard has announced that John Latteri will join the law school as director of development effective March 17. Latteri previously served as the director of major gifts for the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) where he was part of a team that raised more than $20 million in commitments for four straight years.

“We are excited to bring John on board,” Leonard said. “He brings a depth of alumni engagement and fundraising experience that will help grow our development efforts, which will ultimately benefit our students and help them reach their goals.”

Prior to his role as director of major gifts, Latteri served for two years as the major gifts officer at Penn and six years in development roles at his alma mater, Towson University in Towson, Maryland, where he earned his bachelor of arts in sport management and a minor in business administration. He also spent three years as the assistant director of Athletic Marketing at the United States Naval Academy.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining Campbell Law School, with so many of its initiatives having such a positive impact on the surrounding community,” Latteri said. “I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with Dean Leonard in helping advance his vision for the school and look forward to engaging with its many alumni and friends as part of that process.”

Originally from Peekskill, New York, Latteri and his family live in Fuquay-Varina.
