Jones to Join Divinity School Staff

Campbell University Divinity School has named Kelly M. Jones as its new Director of Admissions, effective February 15, 2007. Jones received her Master of Divinity with Languages degree with a concentration in Biblical Studies in May 2006 from Campbell Divinity School. During her time in Divinity School, Jones was a graduate student assistant to Dr. Lydia Hoyle, associate professor of Church History. Prior to that, she obtained an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University in 2001, graduating cum laude. A native of Fayetteville N.C., Jones served as a ministry intern for Lafayette Baptist Church in Fayetteville, working with children and youth. There, she also took part in a supervised ministry program, conducting adult Bible Studies and making weekly care visits to church members. Most recently, Jones has worked as a coordinator for Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) community service classes held at local senior citizen centers, assisting with continuing education courses through FTCC. Dean Michael Cogdill says he’s very proud to have a Campbell Divinity School graduate join his staff. “Kelly brings to her new position exceptional administrative abilities combined with a great love for God’s work and for students,” he said. “Her strong gifts for nurturing and empowering others makes her a natural for this important leadership position in our school.” The Director of Admissions for the Divinity School is responsible for handling all administrative procedures for new students, as well as the matriculation and registration of all students. The Director will also make initial contact and correspondence with prospective students and plan and coordinate Visitation Days and New Student Fellowships. The Campbell Divinity School was founded in 1996 with the mission to provide “Christ-Centered, Bible-Based and Ministry-Focused” theological education. The School offers five disciplines of study — the Master of Divinity, the Master of Arts in Christian Education, the Master of Divinity/Master of Business Administration, the Master of Divinity/Master of Arts in Community Counseling and the Doctor of Ministry.Photo Copy: Kelly M.
