Campbell University’s Kappa Epsilon chapter, Alpha Rho, recently established a scholarship at the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. The pharmacy fraternity pledged $30,000 to give KE members financial support for their post-graduate education.
“There are so many individuals that put in their time and effort by volunteering and attending events, aside from their school work. We figured it would be a way to show our members that we really care about what they do,” said KE President Lauren Turner, who is a second-year student pharmacist.
The first scholarship will be awarded this fall. Once their pledge is complete, the endowed scholarship will generate an annual gift to provide a scholarship to future KE members each year.
Chartered in August 1987, KE was the first pharmacy fraternity at Campbell University. KE has played an important role in the profession of pharmacy by supporting both personal and professional development through continuing education, providing networking opportunities, promoting pharmacy as a career and by participating in national projects including breast cancer awareness.
