BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – The Department of History, Criminal Justice, and Political Science at Campbell University will host the 2016 Kenelm Seminar Series Nov. 10-11 in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Robert M. Browning Jr., retired Coast Guard chief historian, will give the seminar’s keynote address Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Weymouth Center. His address, open to the public, will focus on “None Can Be More Vigilant Than We Are: The Union Blockade During the Civil War.”
The Kenelm Foundation-Campbell University Seminar Series began in 1981 when the Kenelm Foundation, of Collingswood, New Jersey, approached the university to establish a program about North Carolina for North Carolinians.The two-day seminar begins Thursday afternoon at the Weymouth Center and continues Friday morning.
