Lundy-Fetterman School of Business names 2013 outstanding alumni

BUIES CREEK — During its 2013 Alumni Convocation on Oct. 9 in Scott Concert Hall, Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business recognized L. Paul Aycock and Ruthie Hodges Sanders with outstanding alumni awards.

Aycock was the recipient of the school’s 2013 Outstanding Alumni Award. A 1990 graduate of Campbell who majored in accounting, Aycock has worked in the insurance industry since 1991. His career began in the accounting department at Strickland Insurance Group, Inc.; and today, he is the vice president of marketing services for commercial lines at Strickland. Aycock lives in Goldsboro. He and his wife, April, have two children, Madison and Evan, who both attend Charles B. Aycock High School.

Sanders, a three-time graduate of Lundy-Fetterman, received the school’s 2013 Young Alumni Award. She has worked in BB&T’s wealth management division in Charlotte, N.C., for more than eight years. Currently, she’s a vice president and wealth management personal trust specialist.

Sanders received a Bachelor of Business Administration (2005), a Master of Business Administration (2005) and a Master of Trust and Wealth Management (2007) from Campbell. Additionally, she has earned the Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Wealth management Advisor designations. A native of Lake Tillerly, N.C., Sanders lives in Charlotte with her husband, John, and daughter, Avery.
