Campbell University’s School of Pharmacy continues to rise to the top as Dean Ronald Maddox is named to the 2006 National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Dean’s Advisory Council.The Dean’s Advisory Council provides input to the National Community Pharmacists Association and Foundation on new projects and initiatives that will promote entrepreneurialism within pharmacy schools. Discussion topics for the current year include the impact of state budget cuts to Medicare and Medicaid programs and Medication Therapy Management Services.Ronald Maddox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Auburn University and his doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Tennessee. Upon graduation from the University of Tennessee, Maddox was appointed assistant professor of Pharmacy Practice at Mercer University School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Ga. During his tenure at Mercer, Maddox advanced to the position of associate dean and professor, and also served as a credentialed clinical pharmacist at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center.Maddox was named founding dean of Campbell University’s School of Pharmacy in 1985 and continues to serve as professor and dean today. Maddox received the North Carolina Pharmaceutical Association’s 1990 Award for Outstanding Service to the Profession of Pharmacy and the American College of Apothecaries’ 1995 Dean Recognition award for outstanding service to independent pharmacy.Maddox currently resides in Lillington with his wife Suzan. They are the parents of four children.
