Mark your calendars for Campbell concerts

Wind Ensemble, Thursday, Nov. 16Jazz Ensemble and Campbell Voices, Monday, Nov. 20The Campbell University Choir, Monday, Nov. 27Campbell University will present several concerts during the month of November, including the annual Christmas at Campbell concert performed by the Campbell University Choir on Nov. 27. Performing at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Rogers Fine Arts Center will be the University Wind Ensemble on Thursday, Nov. 16, and the Jazz Ensemble accompanied by the Campbell Voices, will perform on Monday, Nov. 20. Christmas at Campbell, featuring the Campbell University Choir directed by Dr. Phillip Morrow, will be presented Monday, Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. in Turner Auditorium of the D. Rich building. Admission to each concert is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Dr. Charles Dwayne Wilson, director of bands and Instrumental Studies at Campbell, the Wind Ensemble will perform seven works of varying styles. “Convergence” is both subtle and intense while “Goddess of Fire,” by Steven Reineke, is exciting and bombastic. Other works include “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre and “Comedian’s Gallop.” “Sleep” will be conducted by senior student conductor Amber Johnson. The Jazz Ensemble accompanied by the Campbell Voices and the annual Christmas at Campbell concert round out this exciting month of musical entertainment.
