Carlton C. Martin, of Godwin, N.C., has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Martin is president and CEO of Martin’s Abattoir and Wholesale Meats, Inc., in Godwin.Active in civic and religious life, Martin is a member of the Clement Baptist Church, where he has been a deacon for 50 years and member of the board of trustees for over three decades. Martin also serves on the board of directors of the South River Electric Corporation and has served as treasurer and of South River Electric Membership Corporation. In addition, he is a member of North Carolina Meat Processors, Inc. and was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Methodist College in 2000. Prior to founding his own company, Martin was president and CEO of Coastal Protein, Inc. and served as vice president of Martin Pork Products, Inc.He is married to the former Lynell Autry. They have three children, Jeffrey Carlton Martin, Jennifer Lynn Matthews, and Christopher E. Martin.
