Participants in Campbell’s first ever national Journalism Institute are, from left, Courtney Willey, Campbell University; Prof. Michael Ray Smith, institute director; Gretchen Ross, Campbell University; Jamie Gentner, Biola University; and Holly Clark, Carson-Newman College. The group pose in front of the Campbell University display at a convention in Greensboro in mid-June 2006. Their other work is scheduled for publication in the July “Biblical Recorder” newspaper. Smith said he hopes the institute, underwritten by the Baptist Press, will continue next year. The students received bylines and a paycheck for their reporting efforts.
