Dr. Karen Mishra’s MBA 702 course “Leading With Your Strengths” recently wrapped up its final few weeks with two guest speakers who shared their experiences with leadership in their respective industries.
Mishra’s class heard from Taneisha White, a program analyst for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), who shared her testimony of how God helped her through challenges in life to use her gifts and land a job at the EPA. White encouraged MBA students to take advantage of all opportunities that come their way. She was recently promoted at the EPA in Durham and will move to Washington D.C. for her next assignment.
The students also heard from Adam Fullerton, creator & host of the Take Back Your Career podcast, who discussed how to be proactive in what you want to do with your job, life and career to find happiness and fulfillment.
MBA 702 focuses on developing personal and team leadership strategies based on students’ top five Gallup Strengths. Students develop the skills to deliver both formal and informal presentations, conduct negotiations, deliver interpersonal communications, as well as obtain an in-depth understanding of his/her own strengths and how those can be helpful for becoming a trustworthy leader.
