BUIES CREEK — Dr. Robert Hasty and Dr. Robin King-Thiele were promoted to new positions within the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine this month.
Hasty — who joined the CUSOM faculty in 2013 as vice-president of medical education, regional associate dean and associate professor of internal medicine — will now serve as associate dean for postgraduate affairs and will remain in his role as an associate professor. He was also named a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
King-Thiele, chair of internal medicine and an associate professor of internal medicine and hospice/palliative care, now serves as the regional assistant dean and chair of internal medicine and will remain an associate professor.
Both Hasty and King-Thiele have been instrumental in the launch of North Carolina’s fifth school of medicine including the development of the first three residency programs: family medicine and internal medicine at Southeastern Health in Lumberton and dermatology at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
