Several media outlets have reported that three men plead guilty to charges related to operating a meth lab in a “vacant dorm room” at Campbell University. This statement is inaccurate. The lab was discovered in the Burgess House in October 2008. The property is owned by Campbell University. However, it has not been used as a residence hall since the spring of 2004. The facility was vacant at the time the lab was discovered.
None of the persons convicted and awaiting sentencing are currently and never have been associated with Campbell University as a student or staff person.
