BUIES CREEK — Campbell University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences will host the inaugural Community Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, May 3, at the Leon Levine Hall of Medical Sciences on the Campbell University Health Sciences Campus. The event, free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Students, faculty, and staff from the medical and pharmacy schools, as well as more than a dozen local vendors, will provide health-related information, activities and services during the fair. That will include body fat screenings, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, an EMS expo, drunken driving simulations, osteopathic manipulation demonstrations and mental acuity activities for the elderly.
Other information, educational resources, and awareness campaigns will focus on physical fitness and nutrition for children, heart disease, regular physical exams, intramural sports, smoking and tobacco, faith and medicine, medicine and technology, physical fitness and nutrition for children, and the practices of physician assistants and DOs.
