Meiburg receives Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award

Dr. Albert L. Meiburg, of Raleigh, N.C., was selected to receive the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching award from the Campbell University Divinity School. Meiburg is Senior Professor of Pastoral Care and a distinguished theological educator and leader among Baptists in that field. A graduate of Clemson University, Meiburg earned Bachelor of Divinity and Doctor of Theology degrees from The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as Visiting Scholar at Union Theological Seminary and at Regents Park College, University of Oxford. In addition, Meiburg has served Baptist institutions in a number of capacities, including professor and academic dean at Wingate University, associate director of the Department of Pastoral Care at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and, most notably, as dean of the faculty and professor of Pastoral Theology at Southeastern Seminary. Meiburg has served as Senior Professor of Pastoral Care at Campbell since 1998. “Dr. Albert Meiburg is an excellent example of the quality of professors at Campbell University,” said Dr. Michael Cogdill, dean of the Divinity School. “He and his wife Virginia have devoted their lives to advancing the Kingdom of God through the classroom, church and community.”
