Buies Creek, N.C.-Emily Morales, an intelligence analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was named a Distinguished Alumna of Campbell University’s department of Government, History and Justice during Homecoming ceremonies on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Morales, who graduated from Campbell in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in government and Public Policy, continued her education at Oxford University where she received a certificate in International Development in 2004. In 2005, Morales earned a master’s degree in International Commerce from George Mason University and was selected to be a Presidential Management Fellow by the U.S. Office of Personal Management. The Presidential Management Fellows program trains outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths for leadership roles in public policy and programs.
Morales went on to become an analyst with the FBI in 2005, where she worked for the National Counterterrorism Center as an FBI detailee in 2006-2007. Established in response to the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, the mission of the National Counterterrorism Center is to prevent future terrorist attacks on the United States. The Center is composed of experts from 16 federal agencies who analyze and integrate terrorism intelligence from all sources. It also conducts strategic operational planning for counterterrorism operations at home and abroad.
