N.C. Industrial Commission holds hearings at Campbell Law

RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Industrial Commission wrapped up its second day of full commission hearings at Campbell Law School on Monday, Nov. 30. The workers’ compensation hearings were held in the Boyce Courtroom within the G. Eugene Boyce Center of Advocacy and were open to both law students and the general public. The three-commissioner panel held an informal question and answer session at the conclusion of the first set of hearings.

“Hearing cases at Campbell Law is an excellent opportunity for the commission to engage with and increase our accessibility to aspiring attorneys and other citizens who might otherwise be unfamiliar with the workers’ compensation system,” said Commissioner Charlton Allen who chaired the full commission panel. “We appreciate Campbell’s willingness to share their magnificent facilities and hope to return soon.”

“We enjoy hosting the N.C. Industrial Commission and serving as a resource for their work,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “Commission hearings provide a unique opportunity for our students to witness the law in action and engage with leading professionals, and our relationship with the commission is a meaningful asset to our law school community.”
