Buies Creek, N.C.—Haley Patricia Nash, of Menefee, Calif., was named the Campbell University School of Education’s Outstanding Professional Education Student at the school’s convocation ceremony held Friday, Feb. 11. Nash will receive a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a middle grades extension this May.
Her teachers and fellow students describe Nash as a true teacher-leader. Involved in numerous professional clubs and organizations, Nash has held an office with the Campbell Middle Level Association and is president of the Student North Carolina Association of Educators. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Alpha Theta and Sigma Tau Delta national honor societies. Nash is also a member of the Campbell Association of Rising Educators, Presidential Scholars and Relay for Life. She has served on the School of Education Advisory Board and the Teacher Education Committee. Nash is also a member of the Friends of the School of Education and played a vital role in the School of Education’s 2008-2009 accreditation process, pitching in to assist in gathering evidence and information.
The School of Education’s annual convocation service recognizes both new and transitioning students, alumni and friends of Campbell University who have made outstanding contributions to the school.
Nash was presented the award by Dr. Lorae Roukema, Coordinator of Middle Grade Education.
