Networking and Sharing Ideas: Public Health Preceptor Luncheon

Campbell University 2016 Winter Commencement

The room was full of passionate, knowledgeable health professionals, many of whom are preceptors for our CPHS Public Health program.

CPHS gathered this group together to celebrate the preceptors and to share and learn about concerns for the future of public health.

After a warm welcome from Dr. David Tillman, department chair of public health, and a tasty lunch, Dr. Wesley Rich, associate dean for health sciences, spoke to the group about Public Health 3.0. Main points included collaboration between healthcare groups to assist people with multiple services, data sharing and collection, and leveraging funding through collaborations.

The group then participated in an exercise to think about the shift in public health and how it will impact their organization and the community.

“The luncheon was a great opportunity to network with area health professionals and share information to benefit our communities,” said, Tillman. “We look forward to fostering continued discussion and to building on the findings from this group.”
