Buies Creek, N.C.-Fifteen hours of continuing education (CE) credit is not always easy to come by for full-time pharmacists balancing professional and family responsibilities, but it is an annual requirement to maintain licensure in North Carolina. A new web portal developed by Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Science’s Continuing Education program provides pharmacists with more CE options while cutting cost and time expenditures.
The CPHS CPE (Continuing Pharmacy Education) web portal is a comprehensive system that allows administrators to develop, plan and coordinate CPE programming while providing users with 24/7 resource to register for events, complete post event assessments and immediately receive CE credit. Beginning May 30th streaming video and recorded CE events will be available to pharmacists nationally. By integrating with CPHS LEARN Portal (Learning Enhancement and Resource Network), CPHS is able to offer quality, accredited on demand or live webinar online programming at the participant’s convenience. In other words, participants can register, access programming, evaluate programs and obtain credit certificates online.
“The CPE web portal is a complete, comprehensive solution to managing the CE process,” said Dr. Andy Bowman, director of Campbell’s Continuing Education program. “With the addition of this administrative resource we look forward to increasing the quantity and quality of CPE programming well beyond our historic offering.”
“We’re very excited about the new portal because not only can we advertize our programs online; but, participants will be able to watch programming at home at their leisure or at work. In addition, there will be no more waiting for the statements of credit. Statements will be available for printing online and can be immediately added to the participant’s transcript. We will also be uploading the participant’s CPE credits to the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy website. This will assist pharmacists during the annual license renewal process.” The CPE web portal will allow participants to form a life-long relationship with the CPHS CPE program.
Currently participants can browse and register for events by going to the CPE web portal at https://cmetracker.net/campbell/catalog. CPE web portal will not only increase the number of pharmacists who can take advantage of CPE programs, but will also broaden Campbell’s reach to pharmacy professionals across the state and nation, Bowman added.
The Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was established in 1986 as the first new school of pharmacy to open in the United States in 35 years. The school’s primary mission is to train clinical pharmacists in a Christian environment to meet existing and future health care needs and to guide students to become well adjusted, exemplary citizens and community leaders. The school is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
