Senior nursing student Brent Crutchfield was featured in an ABC11 news story Wednesday evening, February 3. He, along with five other Bachelor of Science in Nursing students, were working with the Cumberland County Health Department to administer COVID vaccinations at the Crown Complex in Fayetteville.
“All senior nursing students are taking part in a population health course, and working at the COVID vaccination clinic gives them hands on experience meeting the needs of the community,” said Dr. Nancy Duffy, director and chair of the Catherine W. Wood School of Nursing. “We provide our students a variety of practical experience to prepare them for the workplace.”
Staff Sergeant Crutchfield aspires to be an Army nurse. In the interview he said, “”There’s been a couple of times today when you just realize, ‘hey, I’m a part of something that’s…we’re going to be talking about for the rest of our lives.'”
