RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that Ogletree Deakins will provide financial support for a team of student advocates to compete at the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition, April 1-2, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This marks the fourth Campbell Law advocacy program team that Ogletree Deakins has financially supported since 2014.
Campbell Law student advocates finished as championship finalists a year ago at the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition.
“Ogletree Deakins is a longtime supporter of the Campbell Law trial advocacy program, having paved the way for several of our teams,” said Leonard. “We’re beyond appreciative of their support, which has resulted in meaningful and impactful experiences and learning opportunities for numerous Campbell Law students throughout the years.”
The Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition is a one-of-a-kind federal civil mock trial competition. Hosted annually in Puerto Rico, the competition is limited to 14 select advocacy schools from across the United States. Competition rounds are judged by esteemed courtroom lawyers who practice in Puerto Rico and the final round is presided over by an associate justice of the Puerto Rican Supreme Court.
