Ogletree Deakins to fund competitive advocacy team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that Ogletree Deakins has made a gift to the law school to financially support an advocacy program team. The firm’s support will provide assistance for the team’s travel and lodging for the 31st annual Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition in Brooklyn, N.Y., March 31 – April 2.

“We are thankful for the generosity of our friends at Ogletree Deakins,” said Leonard. “Our advocacy program has been a strength of ours for years, and it continues to grow and excel in large part because of the support from the local legal community, our alumni, and firms like Ogletree Deakins.”

The Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition is hosted by the Moot Court Honor Society on Brooklyn Law School’s campus in the heart of Brooklyn Heights. The competition provides law students from across the nation the opportunity to write and argue an appellate brief that addresses evidentiary issues in a contemporary context.

One of the country’s leading labor and employment law firms, Ogletree Deakins has offices throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and in Europe. Robert A. Sar, a 1995 Campbell Law graduate and Campbell Law Board of Visitors member, serves as the managing shareholder of the firm’s Raleigh office.
