RALEIGH – Campbell Law School’s Old Kivett Advocacy Council has announced the results of its 2019 Intramural Negotiation Competition, which was held at the law school on April 8-9. Eighteen Campbell Law students participated in the competition.

Every student round was judged by local attorneys, from recent Campbell Law graduates to well-established members of the North Carolina Bar. After the preliminary rounds, the top four teams moved on to compete in the knockout semi-final rounds.

Following a full evening of negotiation, Thomas Harvey and Michael Logan emerged as winners, while David Joyner and Elizabeth Snow were also finalists. Both teams excelled and received praise from the judges, according to organizers.

Harrison Wicker, Michael Wilber, Weldon Coates, and Benjamin Aydlett rounded out the semifinalists.

Both the winning and finalist teams will represent Campbell Law School at an ABA regional competition next fall.

The Old Kivett Advocacy Council is comprised of 14 second- and third-year students. Each fall, the Council hosts the Intramural Moot Court Competition and the Intramural Client Counseling Competition. In the spring the organization holds the Intramural Negotiation Competition.

The 2018-19 Old Kivett Advocacy Council  members are third-year students Ryan Crofts, Terra Johnson, Briana Way, Alex Puszczynski, Reghan Schmidt, Landis Barber, and Ashley Urquijo; and second-year students Kerri Nottingham, MC Skinner, Adam Webb, Patrick Cook, McCae Henderson, Carlie Spencer, and McKenna Ronan.
