Peeler wins Silver from Raleigh Public Relations Society

Jodi Peeler, director of Alumni Relations for the Campbell University School of Pharmacy, took home a second place Silver award from the Raleigh Public Relations Society’s Sir Walter Raleigh Awards held Tuesday, June 27, at the RBC Center in Raleigh. Peeler won the award for the School of Pharmacy’s 2004-2005 annual report. The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards competition is a statewide showcase of exemplary work by public relations and communications professionals. Awards are presented in six divisions and 24 categories with entries being judged by the Sacramento Public Relations Association in California. As director of Alumni Relations for the School of Pharmacy, Peeler is responsible for overall management of the Pharmacy Alumni program including planning alumni events, reunions and fundraising activities. She completed a Master of Business Administration at Campbell University and received her undergraduate degree in communication and business management from North Carolina State University. Peeler also served as past president of the North Carolina State Communication Alumni Board of Advisors and as a representative on the Raleigh Public Relations Society Board of Directors. Previously, Peeler was the director of member services for the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, where she managed the events for the Chamber including the annual Christmas Parade and Heritage Golf Tournament, as well as the newsletter and the Web site. “The objective of the 2004-2005 pharmacy annual report was to highlight the events and growth of the school, as well as student honorees, alumni activities, community service projects, research and faculty accomplishments,” Peeler said. “In addition, the Office of Alumni Relations wanted to connect with both alumni and donors through recognition and support.” Founded in 1959, The Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS) is an organization for public relations professionals in the Raleigh area which offers numerous professional development opportunities.Photo Copy: Jodi Peeler, director of Alumni Relations for the Campbell University School of Pharmacy.
