Gabriella Story, director of PGA Golf Management in Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, was honored with the Carolinas Section PGA Professional Development Award for her significant contributions to the advancement of education for current and future PGA professionals.
The award recognizes individuals who have gone above and beyond in developing and improving education opportunities for PGA professionals while making a lasting impact on their careers and the overall golf industry.
“This award means two things to me,” Story said. “First, I have the flexibility to provide unique educational opportunities to our students separate from the book material, which really brings the content to life for them via guest speakers and hands-on experiences. And second, I’m able to use the position I’m in to provide education to members of our local chapter and section.
“Being able to encourage our PGM students to attend chapter events and education also creates connections for their future growth. It’s great that I’m able to serve both populations in this way.”
As program director, Story has been instrumental in shaping the educational experiences of future PGA professionals. Her innovative approach to golf management education has empowered students with the technical, leadership and business skills needed to be successful PGA Professionals. She has been involved in PGA programs for over seven years, five at NC State and almost three now at Campbell.
At Campbell, she is dedicated to shaping well-rounded students who prioritize education while embracing inclusion and service, aligned with the university’s faith-based foundation.
In addition to Story’s recognition, Campbell PGM graduates Ryan Dailey, Drew Kiger and Kevin Reardon were also honored with Carolinas Section PGA Awards.Dailey received the Player Development Award, Kiger was awarded the Youth Player Development Award, and Reardon earned the Community Impact Award.
