BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell Business chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) won awards in nine events and two students qualified for the national conference during the 61st State Leadership Conference, April 9-11, in Charlotte. Students who earned either first or second place awards qualified to compete in those events at the National Leadership Conference, June 24-27, in Chicago.
Four students from Campbell’s main campus and one student from the Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus attended the conference. The five students competed in 10 events total.
“I believe that all of Campbell’s students who participated in the conference should be very proud,” said Jaime Zea Sandoval, a senior accounting student from the RTP campus.
A nonprofit education association for students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields, PBL is now in its 66th year. Associate Professor of Business Dr. Edward Fubara serves as the group’s faculty advisor at Campbell Business.
“Our chapter showed a strong performance at the SLC,” said Danielle Barnes, a fifth-year 3/2 trust and wealth management student and PBL treasurer. “One of the highlights of the conference was the ability to network with students from other North Carolina colleges.”
