Buies Creek, N.C.-Piano virtuoso Jeremy Thompson has been applauded for the emotional and intellectual depth of his music. Thompson will perform in concert as part of Campbell University’s Performing Arts Series on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
A native of Canada, Thompson grew up in a small fishing village in New Brunswick. He earned a doctorate in music and piano performance from McGill University, where he held two of Canada’s most prestigious doctoral fellowships. During his studies at McGill, Thompson performed with many acclaimed orchestras, including the Saint Petersburg State Academic Orchestra, the Saratov Philharmonic and the Georgian National Orchestra. He earned a reputation throughout North America and Europe for his virtuosity and style and has been invited to perform and give master classes at various colleges and universities throughout North America. Thompson has won numerous awards, including being a finalist in the 2006 Pacific Piano Competition.
