BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – Eleanor Clift, a political reporter for The Daily Beast and a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow, will visit Campbell University Oct. 17-21, 2016.
As part of her visit, Clift will team up with Campbell’s Communication, English, and Political Sciences departments to lecture on topics that include political parties, advanced writing, and communication theory and ethics in undergraduate classes.
Two events are open to the public:
- Public Discussion: “Media Literacy and Washington Dysfunction” | 2-3 p.m. | Lynch Auditorium, Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, Campbell University’s main campus in Buies Creek
- Viewing Party and Student Focus Group: Last Presidential Debate | 9 p.m. | Room 130, Maddox Hall, Campbell University’s main campus in Buies Creek
Sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges, the Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program brings prominent non-academic professionals in art, business, government, and journalism to college campuses for weeklong residential programs. The program has been in place for more than 35 years.
This visit coincides with the university’s Communications Studies Week and the College Republicans/Democrats/Libertarians debate, which will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. Clift will oversee the public debate.
