Polland headed back to PGA Championship

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business alum Ben Polland is headed to the PGA Championship for the second consecutive year. Polland qualified for the event and secured his place in the final major championship of the year with a strong showing at 49th PGA Professional Championship at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y.

Polland, who is a pro at Deepdale Golf Club in Manhasset, New York, finished at 2-under, taking 13th-place overall. The PGA Championship will be played July 25-31 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.

A graduate of Campbell University's PGA Golf Management Program, Polland played a vital role as his Campbell squad won the 2012 PGA Jones Cup, the annual 36-hole Championship featuring PGA Golf Management University programs from around the country. Polland also represented Campbell's varsity golf team during the spring 2011 semester. He also earned his BBA/MBA from Campbell Business in 2013.
