“As the director of Teacher Education, Dr. Powell is the one person on the teacher education faculty who touches the lives of every student completing the teacher education program,” said Dr. Karen Nery, dean of the School of Education. “Due to Dr. Powell’s strong leadership all teacher education licensure programs at Campbell University were reaffirmed by the state as part of the recent accreditation visit. Her positive outlook has led to creative changes that will take Campbell’s education programs into the 21st century.”
Powell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from William Jewell College, a master’s in education from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University.
