Poyner & Spruill, LLP to sponsor moot court team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that Poyner & Spruill, LLP has offered a gift to the law school to support a moot court competition team. The firm’s gift will provide financial assistance to a group of Campbell Law students competing in The National Moot Court Competition.

The regional competition is slated for Nov. 21-22 in Richmond, Virginia, while the national competition will be held Feb. 9-12, 2015 in New York City.

“Campbell Law is appreciative of the support provided by Poyner & Spruill,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “This opportunity will be immensely beneficial for our students, and will give our first-rate advocacy program even more national exposure.”

The National Moot Court Competition hosts more than 150 law schools each year in regional rounds throughout the country, with the winners advancing to the final rounds held at the New York City Bar. The competition is widely-recognized and strives to promote the art of appellate advocacy through intellectual rigor and persuasive argument. This competition allows students to develop and hone their appellate advocacy skills by arguing in front of prominent members of the profession. Students must also write and submit an appellate brief on the issues presented in the transcript prior to the regional round in November.
