BUIES CREEK — In its “2015 Best Colleges: Region by Region” publication, The Princeton Review has named Campbell University one of the best regional universities for undergraduate education in the Southeastern United States.
A total of 648 colleges across four regions in the U.S. — or only about 25 percent of the 2,500 four-year colleges in the U.S. — were included in best regional lists, including 139 colleges in the Southeast. For The Princeton Review purposes, the “Best in the Southeast” colleges are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The other regions are the Northeast, Midwest and West.
The colleges were selected based on two criteria: academic excellence and independent surveys of students. The Princeton Review asked more than 126,000 students questions about their own schools related to issues such academics, administration, and the student body.
The Princeton Review first issued its “Best Colleges” publication in 1992. Campbell has been named to the “Best in the Southeast” list each year since at least 2007.
