RALEIGH, N.C. – Professor Bobbi Jo Boyd has been selected a spring 2011 Fellow for the National Institute for Teaching Ethics and Professionalism.
The National Institute for Teaching Ethics and Professionalism (NIFTEP), established in 2005, hosts bi-annual workshops that bring together leading academics and practitioners involved in teaching legal ethics and promoting professionalism. The workshop, which is co-sponsored by the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism, will take place April 29 – May 1, 2011, at the University of St. Thomas’ Gainey Conference Center.
The themes for the spring 2011 workshop are:
- What can law teachers and practitioners in one country learn from what is being done in other countries to develop innovative and effective ways of teaching ethics and professionalism?
- How can teaching ethics and professionalism address practicing law in an increasingly global context?
“We are thrilled that Bobbi Jo was selected from such a competitive field,” said Dean Melissa Essary. “It is a credit to our faculty that they are not only dedicated to rigorous teaching and instruction, they are equally committed to pursuing relevant scholarship outside the classroom.”
