RALEIGH, N.C. –Campbell Law Associate Professor Kevin Lee joined local officials, representatives, and business leaders in meeting with The White House Business Council and Business Forward North Carolina on Thursday, March 22, at Paragon Commercial Bank.
The meeting featured U.S. Small Business Administration Regional Administrator Cassius Butts, as well as North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center Assistant State Director Mike Seibert. The discussion focused primarily on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on small business in the state, as well as the numerous other challenges that small businesses face in today’s economy.
“Although recovery is underway to a degree, many regulatory challenges are still impeding growth for small businesses in North Carolina,” said Lee. “The Small Business Administration was extremely sensitive to this, and concerned about responding to the needs of our small businesses.
“The SBA is anxious to work with small business, as well as local financial institutions like Paragon Commercial Bank.”
According to Seibert, North Carolina boasted record export figures of $27 billion in fiscal year 2011.
