RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School Associate Professor Kevin Lee participated in the Dean’s Lecture Series at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law on Thursday, Feb. 7. His presentation, “The Citizen Lawyer in the Coming Era: How Technology is Changing the Practice of Law and What it Might Mean for the Future of the Lawyer’s Role in the American Democracy,” focused on the changes to the legal profession brought forth by advances in modern technology.
“Technology is significantly changing the day-to-day practice of law, as well as the economics of the legal services industry,” said Lee. “It is important that we address and understand the changing role of lawyers and legal professionals in our democracy as a result of emerging technology advances.”
At Campbell Law, Lee teaches business associations, contracts, internal business transactions, jurisprudence, professional responsibility, and comparative law of China. He previously practiced with Braun Moriya Hoashi & Kubota in Tokyo and clerked for The Honorable Herbert J. Hutton, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Lee holds a B.A. from Colgate University, as well as a J.D. from New York law School. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in social and political ethics from the University of Chicago Divinity School.
