The Department of Public Health within Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences announces a special lecture and open house event on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. The afternoon event will offer an opportunity to meet professors and current students, tour the facilities, and attend a lecture on the recent Ebola crisis.
Individuals interested in a graduate degree in public health may register for the open house event, which begins at 5:00 p.m., and the general public is invited to attend the lecture “Fighting the Epidemic: Experiences on the Front Line of the Largest Ebola Outbreak in History”. The presentation will be given by two commissioned officers in the United States Public Health Service who served in West Africa during the Ebola crisis.
The master of science in public health program is a two year, full-time program focusing on the elimination of local health care disparities, and development of local community health intervention and educational programs. Students spend the first year in the classroom while simultaneously developing individual research projects with a faculty advisor. The second year is dedicated to research projects and elective courses.
The lecture begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. on the first floor of Maddox Hall on Campbell’s main campus. Individuals interested in attending the open house should register here.
