Buies Creek, N.C.—Kassandra Uta Sheppard, of Raleigh, N.C., received the Outstanding Psychology Student award from Campbell University’s School of Education at the school’s convocation ceremony held Friday, Feb. 11.
Sheppard, a senior psychology and religion major, plans to continue her education by pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology. Honored for her academic performance as well as her commitment to University service, Sheppard has served or held office in several campus organizations, including the Student Government Association, the Campus Activity Board, Psychology Club and, since 2009, as student representative to Campbell’s School of Education Advisory Board.
Active in campus activities, Sheppard has maintained an overall grade point average of 3.74 and was inducted into honor societies for religion and psychology, Theta Alpha Kappa and Psi Chi respectively. She is also a member of the International Society for Social Sciences.
The School of Education’s annual convocation service recognizes both new and transitioning students, alumni and friends of Campbell University who have made outstanding contributions to the school.
Dr. Gary Taylor, chairman of the Psychology Department, presented the award to Sheppard.
