Relay for Life comes to Campbell University

“One day. One night. One community. Fighting cancer.”This is the powerful motto for this year’s Relay for Life.Students from Campbell University will be hosting their own Relay for Life on Friday, March 30, 2007, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Academic Circle. Relay for Life is the signature overnight fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. All money raised at Campbell will be going to the main Relay for Life Harnett County which will be held this year at Harnett Central High School on April 27-28, 2007.”I am extremely excited for Campbell University to participate in Relay for Life,” said Justine Brand, one of the students helping to organize Campbell’s Relay. “I think that it is extremely important to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Not only will this be fun, but we’ll raise money for a great cause and bring the Campbell community closer together.”Relay isn’t just limited to the students. Faculty, staff, alumni and the surrounding community are invited to participate in the walk or to just come out and support the teams. There will be food, music and games.This is part of Spring Fling Week at Campbell University. The event is sponsored by Campbell’s Campus Activities Board and Relay for Life.To sign up, pick up your Team Leader Packet in the Student Activities Office. Each team needs a minimum of 10 people. The cost is $10 dollars per person.
