Religion Honor Society holds induction

The Department of Religion and Philosophy at Campbell University conducted its second annual Theta Alpha Kappa (TAK) induction Tuesday, April 08. Theta Alpha Kappa is the National Honor Society for Theology and Religious Studies. Last year’s charter class welcomed seventeen inductees. This year five students were admitted: Andrew Hoots, Valerie Martin, Patricia Greene, Ruth Quakenbush and Brandon White.Membership in Theta Alpha Kappa requires a 3.5 GPA in religion classes and a 3.0 overall GPA. At the induction ceremony, Dr. Michael Cogdill delivered words of congratulations. Elizabeth Austin, a current TAK member, read scripture. Dr. Dwaine Greene and Mr. Win Quakenbush, both of whom were present in support of their respective daughters, offered opening and closing prayers. Dr. English delivered membership certificates and welcomed the new members.From left to right, the new members are Andrew Hoots, Valerie Martin, Patricia Greene, Ruth Quakenbush and Brandon White. Dr. Adam English, assistant professor of Religion, serves as moderator of the Campbell chapter.
